BAB vows push cooperation with BCDR

Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) and the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) discussed enhancing cooperation which will contribute to enhancing access of banking institutions of BCDR services, as well as enhancing Bahrain’s position on the global map in the commercial arbitration sector as a whole.

During the meeting, Chief Executive Officer of BCDR Professor Nassib G. Ziade’, introduced services provided by Chamber to the financial and banking institutions, explaining that disputed which fall originally within the Bahrain court’ jurisdiction, where the claim amount exceeds BHD 500,000 (US$1.3 million), subject to at least one party being a financial institution licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain, or the dispute being of an international commercial nature.

Moreover, he pointed out that the BCDR provides government and commercial customers that are contracting parties in the Gulf region and other regions around the world, with quick and effective solutions to settle economic, financial and investment disputes through its arbitration and mediation services.
